MISSOURI AUCTION- April 17, 2005

Linda Portell

It was such a great day here in the SHOW ME State that Dan and I decided to attend an auction about 1 hour from us. We found out about it from a friend of ours. A collector decided to sell some of his Pedal Cars.  We drove out to Washington Mo. , where the auction was held. There were not many pedal car collectors there…maybe due to the nice warm day.

They also were auctioning off Pedal Tractors. Among the tractors was a John Deere A, John Deere 3-hole and a pair of other John Deere’s. A Massey Ferguson, International, Ford International 560, and late 40’s Farmall with the open grill. A John Deere brought $200.00, Murray brought $60.00, and a Kubota sold for $95.00.

In the pedal car line they offered a late 30’s Mac Truck that brought about $300.00. The Tin Lizzy sold for around $300.00 also. A late model Murray Fire Truck ( restored ) sold for $180.00. The Radio Patrol Trike sold for $400.00. The original Mustang brought $220.00. There were a couple T Birds that only sold for $75.00 each.

All in all, it was a nice day. We ran into a few collectors from our area. It was nice to stand and visit with them…. kind of a pre- Pigeon Forge!!!!!!

Oh… The Dozer did not reach its reserve, nor did the pursuit plane. I think that if the auction had been advertised more the bidding would have been much better.

Pictured with Dan are Lonnie Geisler of Washington Mo. , Don Pfitzinger of St. Louis .
