Little Red Car
By Ed & Ginger Nystrom
My father bought the car new and the only known picture is of me in the car in 1943.

I was two years old and it was a birthday present. My father kept the car and he cleaned it up and in 1966 and it was given to my son Eddie when he was two years old. Dad cleaned the car up and the white paint on the hood and grill came off, along with the decals on the rear fenders.

I gave the car to my
sister, as she had two boys and by the time I got the car back in 2005, it was
in need of restoration. The original wheels and tires had been replaced with
wagon wheels but the hub caps were found in their garage
and I was able to put them back on the car. The original hood ornament
was long gone and I replaced it with a copy. I purchased the tires, wheels, and
hood ornament from you and my research led me to the present condition of the
car. It was sandblasted and professionally painted and I was able to have the
decal reproduced by a graphics artist. The car will stay with me and will be
passed on to my son, Eddie.
Thanks Linda for helping me in the research. I have visited several collectors in California and none have a 1941. The restoration process has been very educational and rewarding. I didn't know that there was so much information on pedal cars when I started. Ed
